Landing and Parking charges
LANDING CHARGES - International
- International landing charges are calculated by multiplying the maximum take off weight (MTOW) by the a) by the designated rate for the noise level of the aircraft. Rate differ depending on the noise rating index category of the aircraft as set out below.
Rate | A | B | C | D | E | F |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
(Yen/tonne) | 1,550 | 1,650 | 1,750 | 1,850 | 1,950 | 2,000 |
What is the aircraft noise rating index?
- The Narita Noise Index applies to aircraft certified under the provisions of ICAO Annex 16. The Index places aircraft into 6 categories, ranging from A to F, based on its noise performance relative to ICAO Chapter 3 (Annex 16, Volume 1, Chapter 3) standard at the 3 measurement points: flyover, sideline, and approach.
- An aircraft must meet both criteria prescribed in the table below concurrently in order to qualify for the corresponding noise category.
Narita Aircraft Noise Rating Index
Criteria | Categories | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
A | B | C | D | E | F | |
Cumulative EPNdB reduction from Chapter 3 standard of ICAO Annex 16 |
20 or more |
15 or more |
10 or more |
5 or more |

Individual EPNdB reduction from Chapter 3 standard of ICAO Annex 16 at each noise measurement point |

- Note(1)
- Aircraft weight(MTOW) shall be in tonnes(t) for the calculation of the charges, and any fraction of a tonne is counted as one tonne. 1000 pounds shall be converted to 0.45359243 tonnes when the weight is shown in pounds.
- Note(2)
- A minimum charge of JPY50,000 applies when the calculated amount is below JPY50,000.
PARKING CHARGES - International
The international aircraft parking charges shall be calculated in the following manner for each time of parking:
- When parked for less than 6 hours: JPY200/t multiplied by aircraft's MTOW
- When parked for 6 hours or longer: the total sum of the charge (a) and an additional JPY200/t multiplied by aircraft's MTOW for each 24-hour period (or part thereof) beyond the first 6 hours.
